Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflicts (GPPAC)

GPPAC
- the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflicts, is the international network for conflict prevention and peace-building. It originated in UN Secretary General Kofi Annan's call in 2001 to develop an international network of organizations that explore and strengthen civil society networks in the prevention of armed conflicts, recognizing the need to shift strategies from reaction towards prevention by addressing the root causes of conflicts. The GPPAC secretariat, the European Centre for Conflict Prevention (ECCP), is an independent NGO based in The Hague, Netherlands. The GPPAC network is made of 15 regions throughout the world.
